Hommebijoux founded in 2008 by Romero Serge as a micro-enterprise.

Discover how Hommebijoux was born and developed, from its creation to today.

2008 - All great stories have a beginning, mine began at 24 years old. At the time, I only had one idea in mind, that of starting my own business. So I threw myself headlong into this crazy bet thanks to a huge desire to succeed in the world of e-commerce. I decide to invest all my savings, around €8,000, so that this project can succeed. But the main question I asked myself at that time was what to sell? and how? One thing was certain, it was that I really wanted to sell online in the fashion sector.

So, I made the decision to resell costume jewelry and designer men's clothing online using the famous eBay auction site. Eh yes! branded clothing first! Then after only two months, I quickly realized that the clothes were taking up too much space in my small space and that sales were not living up to my expectations, unlike men's jewelry. Indeed, very quickly I realized that there was really a lack on the internet of an online jewelry store dedicated to men, offering the same guarantees and the same services as a traditional jewelry store. I quickly realized that the online sale of jewelry dedicated exclusively to men was then an obvious choice. It was then that a decision was quickly made, goodbye to designer clothes, and long live Hommebijoux. The first year was not easy, working 7 days a week for almost 15 hours a day is not for everyone, but I was overcome by the desire to succeed. I owe this motivation mainly to my family and in particular my wife.

2009 - Thanks to eBay, the company emerged and gradually became a leader in the field of men's jewelry. Because at that time, we were one of the first specialists in men's jewelry on the internet. That same year, we made the decision to offer stainless steel jewelry. Why stainless steel? The reasons for leading and specializing in this matter are multiple. In addition to its low price and the fact that it is completely hypoallergenic due to the absence of nickel, it is its stainless properties that make it a remarkable material. That's why you can buy our jewelry with confidence.

2010 - Our sales continue to increase on eBay. That's when I took the crazy gamble of creating my own sales site. It is then that is born HommeBijoux.com at the end of 2010, the dream comes true! A low-cost jewelry site, dedicated only to men. Faced with the sharp increase in commission fees on eBay, I decided to favor my site by significantly lowering the prices of jewelry and it worked!

2011-2012 - It is recognized that the third year, following the creation of a business, as being the most difficult. Well, I can tell you this! In fact, this is the most difficult year I have ever had, because I had to face social security contributions that were much higher than I expected. To cope with this unforeseen event, I had to significantly reduce my salary, to the point of even depriving myself of salary for 2 months consecutively. This year was really very complicated, even to the point of thinking about ceasing activity, but here again the desire to succeed and my motivation had taken over!

2013 - It’s a real success! Our bet is winning, our sales are growing again and again. This is a growth in turnover of around 50% in 2013 compared to 2012. Our range of jewelry continues to expand, until I made the decision to also resell original jewelry for women. And I can say that it is a great success, and this from the first year because sales of women's jewelry represented, from 2013, 15% of our turnover.

2014 to 2017 - Competition is fierce, particularly with the boom in self-employed status, but we are resisting. Our prices are always lower than our competitors. The number of jewelry offerings continues to grow, including our ring category with more than 300 references. We are now an undisputed leader!

2017 to 2018 - A new design and total overhaul of our website hommebijoux.com was launched in 2018. A more aesthetic and ergonomic site, in order to simplify navigation and searches for our future Internet customers. A design based on improving the web experience for our customers and visitors. This new design incorporates important new features such as the self-adjusting screen for all types of devices: PCs, smartphones, tablets, laptops. Our new menu dedicated to mobile phones! 2019 - Without doubt a major turning point in the growth of the hommebijoux online store, since we have set ourselves the objective of significantly expanding our jewelry catalog, increasing it from 500 to 700 products. Then, we have the immense joy of announcing the acquisition of a machine to engrave all of our much-loved jewelry. We therefore provide the majority of our jewelry with the possibility of personalizing it with engraving. Click here for an overview of some achievements. And we will of course continue to add new beautiful products to our collections every week.

2020-2021 - Despite the pandemic and the resulting global supply issues, we have coped and experienced rapid growth these years and we have used this growth by offering even more diverse jewelry. In 2021 we started to design some jewelry models in order to offer unique creations more in our image and to follow current trends. We will of course continue to add new beautiful products to our collection every week.

2022 to 2023 - It's accelerating !

✨ Our jewelry catalog is growing day by day. We now have a catalog of more than 1000 products. A new version of the site was launched in December 2022 with a complete design overhaul as well as a new logo. A more aesthetic and ergonomic site, in order to simplify navigation and searches for our future Internet customers. But that's not all, a change of server was made in April 2023 to allow faster navigation for customers.
